In Vertex School’s Game Art Bootcamp, you’ll create your own 3D in-game assets and build your portfolio.

You’ll delve into the theory and the practice of today’s high-resolution games and gain hands-on experience in Autodesk’s Maya & Substance Painter.
Our course is entirely online. Log into the live weekly session from anywhere on the planet with an internet connection.
Complete your homework from the comfort of your own home and interact with our community of over 1,500 people either online or via an app. During term II choose to focus on either Character Art or Environment Art.

Getting It In The Game
When training for the Games industry, make sure you’re portfolio is in a Game Engine. We train on Unreal Game Engine.

Why are these skills relevant today?
With the advent of cloud gaming, AR/ VR and the latest advanced in software, there’s never been a better time to be a well-trained 3D Artist. The Game industry is growing and offers stable employment for artists trained in the latest software and techniques.
Who will I be taking classes with?
Our students are artists, engineers transition into the arts, people just out of college, people who couldn’t afford to go to college, vfx artists, baristas – artists who, just like you, have a passion for the game industry.
What can I expect to accomplish by the end of this course?
By the end of the program, you will:
- Complete a portfolio project.
- Learn the foundations of the core software used in modern game pipelines.
- Be prepared to take our Game Artist Bootcamps and work on a portfolio project.
What are my financing options for a bootcamp?
We don’t want financial obstacles to getting in the way of achieving your dream job so we offer payment plans for those who qualify. Note, you must first be accepted into the program before applying for financing.
What is the difference between the 3D Modeling Bootcamp and the Character Artist or Environment Artist Bootcamp?
The 3D Modeling Bootcamp is part time and skill focused. Both the Character and Environment Artist Bootcamps are part time but they are centered around your capstone project. The class time in the 3D Modeling Bootcamp is mostly lecture. The class time in the Character and Environment Artist Bootcamps is mostly crit focused. The 3D Modeling Bootcamp is ideal for those who are just starting out, need to build up their foundational skills and have limited time. Character and Environment Artist Bootcamps are ideal for those who have already completed schooling and need to create a portfolio piece that will help them get a job.
What is the difference between the 3D Modeling Bootcamp and the Immersive?
The 3D Modeling Bootcamp is part time and skill focused. The Immersive is full time (5 days a week) and also skill focused. The Immersive, however, is the most comprehensive option and will dive deeper. The 3D Modeling Bootcamp’s part time schedule, though, makes it ideal for those with scheduling limitations.
